More than transmitters of knowledge, they are guides who awaken in the student the desire to grow and transform. In the context of mindfulness, this inspiration is even more powerful, as it involves practicing a way of life that goes beyond the classroom. Teachers who incorporate Mindfulness into their <strong>\"Being and Doing<\/strong>They motivate their students not just because of what they teach, but because of who they are.<\/p>\n<p>Being an inspiring Mindfulness teacher requires coherence between what you teach and how you live. Inspiring, in this case, doesn't mean being perfect, but authentic. A teacher who demonstrates vulnerability, resilience and compassion in everyday situations creates a model that students feel to be true. This generates a connection that motivates the practice and engagement of the participants, because they perceive that the teacher is living the principles of Mindfulness to the full.<\/p>\n<p>However, when we analyze the educational reality in Brazil, an important challenge arises: how to motivate and inspire in a scenario of so much adversity? Data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) shows that by 2022, <em>47% of Brazilian teachers reported high levels of stress and emotional exhaustion, much higher than the global average of 32%.<\/em> These figures reflect the pressure faced by education professionals due to work overload, low pay and precarious teaching conditions.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, public education in Brazil faces structural problems that directly impact the well-being of teachers and the quality of teaching. According to the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep, 2023), more than 40% of Brazilian public schools lack basic infrastructure, such as libraries and adequate spaces for pedagogical activities. In this context, motivating and transforming teaching often becomes a Herculean challenge, limiting teachers' potential to inspire their students.<\/p>\n<p>Mindfulness can be a powerful tool for tackling these challenges in education, both inside and outside schools. Research such as that by Jennings et al. (2017), published in Mindfulness, shows that the regular practice of Mindfulness by teachers not only reduces stress and anxiety, but also improves their ability to deal with adverse situations. In an educational environment as challenging as Brazil's, this practice can be a differentiator both for the teacher's well-being and for the positive impact on students.<\/p>\n<p>It is therefore essential that teacher training programs in Brazil include approaches aimed at emotional and mental development, such as Mindfulness.
