Nesse cen\u00e1rio, pr\u00e1ticas como o mindfulness v\u00eam ganhando destaque n\u00e3o apenas como estrat\u00e9gias terap\u00eauticas, mas tamb\u00e9m como pontes entre a ci\u00eancia e a espiritualidade. Embora sua origem esteja ligada \u00e0 tradi\u00e7\u00e3o budista, viver em aten\u00e7\u00e3o plena transcende dogmas e pode ser acolhida por diferentes cren\u00e7as religiosas como uma forma de, n\u00e3o apenas reduzir estresse, mas at\u00e9 mesmo aprofundar a conex\u00e3o com o sagrado &#8211; qualquer que seja a forma que esse sagrado assuma para cada indiv\u00edduo.<\/p>\n<p>O termo mindfulness pode ser traduzido como \u201caten\u00e7\u00e3o plena\u201d e refere-se ao estado mental de estar consciente e presente no momento atual, sem julgamentos. Na \u00e1rea acad\u00eamica e da sa\u00fade, essa pr\u00e1tica foi amplamente difundida por Jon Kabat-Zinn, professor em\u00e9rito de medicina, que em 1979 criou o programa de Redu\u00e7\u00e3o do Estresse Baseado em Mindfulness (MBSR) na Universidade de Massachusetts. Devido tamanho sucesso terap\u00eautico deste protocolo, desde ent\u00e3o, diversos estudos cient\u00edficos passaram a comprovar os efeitos positivos na pr\u00e1tica de mindfulness para a regula\u00e7\u00e3o emocional, diminui\u00e7\u00e3o da ansiedade, al\u00edvio da dor cr\u00f4nica e para a melhora da qualidade de vida em geral (Goyal et al., 2014; Garland et al., 2015).<\/p>\n<p>Mas para al\u00e9m dos efeitos terap\u00eauticos fisiol\u00f3gicos e psicol\u00f3gicos, h\u00e1 uma dimens\u00e3o da pr\u00e1tica que toca o campo da espiritualidade, tema de profunda import\u00e2ncia e inspira\u00e7\u00e3o de Jon Kabat Zinn ao criar o primeiro programa. Afinal, estar presente com profundidade e abertura \u00e9, em si, um ato de rever\u00eancia. Em diferentes religi\u00f5es, encontramos pr\u00e1ticas semelhantes: a ora\u00e7\u00e3o contemplativa no cristianismo, o zikr no islamismo sufista, a medita\u00e7\u00e3o jhana no budismo, o sil\u00eancio quaker, entre outros. Todas essas experi\u00eancias compartilham um elemento central: o cultivo da aten\u00e7\u00e3o ao momento presente como uma forma de comunh\u00e3o com o divino.<\/p>\n<p>A ci\u00eancia, inclusive, come\u00e7a a reconhecer essa interface entre espiritualidade e sa\u00fade. Pesquisas mostram que pr\u00e1ticas contemplativas est\u00e3o associadas \u00e0 ativa\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1reas cerebrais relacionadas ao bem-estar, compaix\u00e3o e autorregula\u00e7\u00e3o emocional (Davidson &#038; Lutz, 2008). Al\u00e9m disso, estudos em psicologia transpessoal e neuroteologia sugerem que estados meditativos podem promover experi\u00eancias de transcend\u00eancia, refor\u00e7ando valores como empatia, conex\u00e3o e prop\u00f3sito (Vieten et al., 2013).<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 importante destacar que <strong>mindfulness<\/strong> n\u00e3o exige ades\u00e3o a uma religi\u00e3o espec\u00edfica. Pelo contr\u00e1rio: sua for\u00e7a est\u00e1 justamente na neutralidade com que pode ser integrada por pessoas de diferentes credos \u2014 ou mesmo por aquelas que n\u00e3o se vinculam a nenhuma religi\u00e3o, mas que buscam uma vida com mais equil\u00edbrio, consci\u00eancia e sentido. Quando praticada com sinceridade, a aten\u00e7\u00e3o plena pode ser um caminho para o autoconhecimento e para uma espiritualidade vivida no cotidiano: ao lavar a lou\u00e7a, caminhar no parque, respirar com presen\u00e7a. O templo sagrado pode ser o aqui e o agora.<\/p>\n<p>Em um mundo t\u00e3o fragmentado, pr\u00e1ticas como o mindfulness podem ser pontes: entre corpo e mente, entre ci\u00eancia e espiritualidade, e igualmente importante, a paz entre pessoas de diferentes cren\u00e7as. Mais do que uma t\u00e9cnica ou uma terapia, \u00e9 uma forma de estar no mundo com mais gentileza, escuta e presen\u00e7a: valores que, no fundo, toda tradi\u00e7\u00e3o espiritual autenticamente humana compartilha.
