Discover how meditation becomes a powerful method for boosting productivity and improving performance.

Did you know that meditation can be a method for productivity and better performance?

What is meditation? What are its benefits? And how can I apply it in my company? To answer all these questions, let's explore the history of this practice, which today is part of the methodologies applied in large and small companies, transforming the daily lives of their employees.

Meditation or Mindfulness has its origins in the Latin word "meditare", which means to detach oneself from the external world and turn inwards, to one's own center. In other words, to bring one's attention to the moment of the here and now, exercising one's breathing in an appreciative way. This technique has been used for many millennia, and with its Eastern origins, it has captivated the West in a comprehensive way and is here to stay, as it is a simple practice to carry out and does not require material resources.

In addition, the benefits of this exercise are manifold:

-Decreased stress, reduced anxiety and depressive symptoms;

-Release of feel-good hormones such as serotonin;

-Greater understanding of emotions and feelings;

-More mental clarity;

-Calms the mind and increases longevity

-Improves the immune system

- Increases creativity

-Develops brain regions that are linked to high performance

-Provides self-knowledge

- In addition to the above, several other advantages can be developed.

However, within the business sector this is not always the scenario we see, because in an environment where there is a lot of pressure to hit targets, too many meetings, multitasking, and many hours in front of screens and technologies, the mental health of these people is compromised, making for a tiring and stressful routine, from which healthy productivity is compromised, directly affecting not only the employees but also the company.

Bill Gates, a major technology entrepreneur, has reported that meditation has been a means of maintaining greater focus and productivity in his respective activities. In addition, companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Vivo and Intel have declared that

providing Mindfulness to its employees has greatly improved their performance and results.

However, in order to introduce meditation into your company, you need to pay attention to the following factors:

- Chairs or just cushions can be added to the space, which should preferably be quiet or with little noise so that the participants can concentrate better;

-Time, adapting to the reality of the company in a strategic way is exceptional for the insertion of practices, with at least 15 minutes of meditation you can already see the results over the course of a few days.

- Hiring a qualified instructor, having a professional who directs the meditation, makes the process much easier as it improves and qualifies the technique in its applications.

Therefore, improving and promoting better health and well-being for your company is an intelligent methodology that constructively develops the workspace and interpersonal relationships. According to WHO data, depression is the second leading disease in the world and by 2030 it will become the first. It is also the disease that most incapacitates workers in the world,

Other figures show that Brazil is the 5th country in the depression ranking, the most anxious country and the 2nd country with the highest number of burnout cases. Given this situation, working on preventive methods is the best option for anyone looking to improve their company's productive performance.
