3 Mindfulness Practices to Cultivate Daily Peace

1) Pay attention to your diet

Put your cell phone away, turn off the TV and concentrate on what's on your plate. Enjoy the color, aroma, texture and taste of your food.
Also think of the person who lovingly prepared it for you. Chew slowly and savor every nuance. Take your time! Mindful eating is also about paying attention to your body's hunger signals and knowing when you've had enough.

2) Be present with your body

More than just physical benefits, mindful exercise can greatly improve your mood, help you to be more focused and strengthen the connection between mind and body.
If you suddenly wander off while running or lifting weights, refocus your attention on the exercise, your body and your breathing. Also practice this when doing everyday activities - changing clothes, showering, washing the dishes...

3) Be present with others

Whether they are your partner, family members, colleagues or service providers, give them your undivided attention whenever they are talking to you.
Stop what you're doing and connect with them in this moment. Your presence is a gift!
Going further: Suspend any form of judgment and listen to what they are saying. Really listen to their opinions and acknowledge their feelings, rather than wanting to refute them.
