The last two years have not been easy for anyone. The increase in mental health problems has never been greater. Depression, anxiety and burnout syndrome lead the ranking of mental illnesses affecting people globally, and especially in Brazil the figures are alarming.
From April 18 to 20, Flow of Life took part in CONARH, Latin America's largest event on management, people and business, and there I spoke on this topic, bringing to everyone's attention why mental illness is becoming increasingly common, how this frenetic world has impacted on people's lives and the changes in behavior and professional and personal priorities that are taking place not only in Brazil but also around the world.
We are in a planetary transition where the pre-pandemic work model (100% face-to-face and fixed hours) is no longer what people are looking for and accepting, where unbridled consumerism has lost ground and so has industrial food, and in its place new behaviors and habits have emerged, such as the great resignation movement where millions of qualified professionals around the world have resigned with no job in sight to seek more balance and purpose in their lives, the increase in entrepreneurship and the boom in startups, the increased demand for a healthier diet and the awakening of self-knowledge.
All these changes point in one direction:
We URGENTLY need to stop and get back to living with more presence.
We all have the capacity to live to our full potential when we are centered and at peace, and how can we do this? By changing our behavior by training our mind to live in a more mindful state.
There is a lot of scientific evidence of how Mindfulness has a positive impact on people's lives, especially in these times of planetary transition, pandemics and wars, developing awareness is the answer to everything.
There are several ways to start practicing Mindfulness, both in your personal life and in companies.
